Bullitt introduces a phone called the Cat S42 that is not only antibacterial, but also extremely durable and is absolutely waterproof. The price to own a product with antimicrobial technology Biomaster is 229 pounds (equivalent to 7 million dong). Cat S42 is scheduled to be available in early 2021.
The Daily Mail reported that this phone line can fight bacteria spread thanks to the silver ion-containing shell. Although it does not directly inactivate bacteria or viruses – including SARS-CoV-2 that causes COVID-19 acute respiratory infections – Cat S42 is effective in preventing the growth of pathogens. Since bacteria cannot multiply, their numbers naturally decrease.
“Biomaster active antimicrobial” claims an 80% reduction in the number of bacteria within 15 minutes and 99.9% within 24 hours. Notably, the manufacturing company says with absolute water resistance, users can completely wash the Cat S42 phone with soap, antiseptic and even bleach to keep it clean.
Mr. Peter Cunningham, Deputy Director of Bullitt Company, affirms: “This is important for customers working in a medical or social care environment and for specific jobs that have to move around. They can confidently wash and sterilize their Cat phones regularly ”.
Professor Peter Hall at the University of Waterloo said that people should clean their phones twice a day to prevent virus infection. Apple recommends that users use a microfiber cloth soaked in soapy water to clean the phone instead of using alcohol soaked cotton.
The possibility of getting a virus from the phone screen is possible, but not as great as from person-to-person.
In addition to its antibacterial properties, the S42 can resist water up to 1.5 meters for 35 minutes. It also exhibits good shock resistance, remains intact and works normally after being dropped several times from a height of 1.8 meters. The stainless steel housing also makes the S42 immune to dust, extreme temperature changes and vibrations.
