Trump calls Mark Zuckerberg a ‘criminal’

Former President Donald Trump has just criticized Mark Zuckerberg – Facebook CEO in a statement. Specifically, Mr. Trump said that Zuckerberg’s donation of $ 400 million to local election agencies last year was an act of “criminal”.

“In my opinion, Mark Zuckerberg is a criminal. He spent more than 400 million dollars and so could change the presidential election and so far nothing has happened to Facebook.”

Mr. Trump was referring to the $400 million that Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan donated to local election offices last year. The money was sent through two non-profit organizations, the Center for Technology & Citizenship and the Center for Electoral Research & Innovation. The money is intended to help officials adapt to changes in voting practices caused by the pandemic.

The money is spent on items such as personal protective equipment including masks, gloves and vote-by-mail tools. There is no evidence that Zuckerberg’s donation is illegal or partisan.

Zuckerberg denied allegations that the donations were misused.

He said in the statement: “Since the initial donations, there have been numerous lawsuits aimed at blocking the use of these funds because they suspect the donation-receiving organizations have a partisan agenda. That These funds will serve communities across the country – from urban to rural areas and distributed by nonpartisan organisations.”

Since losing a presidential election in January, Mr. Trump has made many comments, suspecting election fraud. He said that part of Zuckerberg’s money was distributed to the Pennsylvania election system as evidence that Mark “hindered” the state’s election results. Meanwhile, in January, the state of Pennsylvania voted for Mr. Joe Biden.
