According to a new report, iPhone SE 3rd generation has 4GB RAM, 1GB more than its predecessor and on par with iPhone 13. iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max still have higher RAM capacity, up to 6GB, but 4GB RAM is quite enough for iPhone.

This information is taken from the Xcode 13.3 RC that Apple released after the Peek Performance event. Similar Xcodes have revealed the exact amount of RAM of past iPhone generations.

Photo and video editing applications will benefit from more RAM, as they can store more layers in memory. The extra RAM also allows many apps and websites loaded in Safari to stay in the background when you’re temporarily not using them, limiting the need to reopen apps.

iPhone SE (2022) has a starting price of 429 USD, with 3 memory options of 64GB / 128GB / 256GB and 3 color versions of black, white and red. The device is available for pre-order from March 9 and is expected to hit shelves on March 18.
