Google CEO Sundar Pichai was promoted earlier this month, after founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin gave up control of parent company Alphabet. That means Sundar Pichai will become CEO of both Alphabet and Google.
According to a Bloomberg report, CEO Sundar Pichai will receive a $ 240 million stock subsidy package and a $ 2 million salary in 2020. And possibly another $ 90 million in Alphabet stock.
Sundar Pichai, one of Silicon Valley’s highest-paid CEOs, has held Google’s CEO position since 2015 after the company restructured and founded Alphabet. His salary last year was 1.8 million USD, previous years was 650,000 USD.
However, besides that, Sundar Pichai has received many stock financing packages from the company. Including a $ 240 million in 2014, followed by another $ 300 million that helped his net worth nearly $ 1 billion.
In fact, he turned down a pension package last year. Although he is one of the highest-paid executives in the technology field, Pichai’s net assets relative to Page and Brin are still very poor. When the two founders both owned about 6% of Alphabet’s shares, with their respective values of 65 billion and 63 billion USD.
