Revealed foldable smartphone design similar to Motorola’s Razr
- Tram Ho
Recently, Motorola has revived the legendary folding phone Razr, in the form of a unique folding smartphone. This is the only smartphone on the market today with a vertically folding screen design, making it feel like a previous flip phone. However, Motorola will likely encounter competition from both Huawei and Samsung.

Samsung has confirmed that it is developing a clamshell folding screen smartphone. Huawei's recently revealed patent also shows the same thing. However, Huawei's folding smartphone design may be even more impressive than the Motorola Razr.
Huawei's patent reveals a smartphone with a relatively tall screen, ultra-thin borders and even on the front. Do not see any grooves on the screen, which means Huawei can integrate the hidden camera below.
The back has the same design as Huawei's P-series smartphones, with 3 main cameras and a depth sensor. The volume rocker and power key are located on the right side.
It is not clear how Huawei will use the hinge mechanism. But Motorola has succeeded in keeping the foldable screen free of any folds, so Huawei could well learn from it.
A new foldable smartphone may be launched by Huawei at the MWC 2020 event in late February, exactly one year after the Mate X was announced. However, it is unlikely that Huawei's next foldable smartphone will have a patent-like design.
