Owners of Android smartphones have been warned that thieves can do more damage to them than just stealing the phone.

That is, when your device is snatched from your hand is not the “most painful” thing, criminals can go even further if they get hold of your PIN.

Many experts warn that criminals can not only access your smartphone, but also break into your Google account. They even “snoop” on your bank accounts or social networks.

This issue was alerted to iPhone users earlier this week.

While iPhones have a higher resale rate, this doesn’t mean Android owners are immune to the same dangers.

Because in fact, all you need is your smartphone’s PIN to change your Google account password.

According to 9to5Google, if you forget your password, all you need to do is go into the settings and access your Google account with just a PIN.

“If thieves know the Android phone password, they can completely change your Google account password,” said Android expert Mishaal Rahman.

“Many of you may already know that this is possible, but I don’t. I rarely use the ‘forgot password’ feature and have never done it for my Google account. . So I don’t keep up with all the options available when I’m locked out.”

“However, I bet a lot of users don’t know that this is possible. It’s terrible for someone to be able to change your Google account/Apple ID password with nothing more than the password of the stolen phone.”

“They can reset your password and ‘lock’ you out of your account before you have a chance to lock them out.”

Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, a Google representative said: “Our account login and recovery policies try to strike a balance between allowing users to retain legitimate access to their accounts. themselves in real-world situations and prevent bad actors.”

One way you can protect yourself is by using biometric options like Face ID or fingerprint. That way, thieves have nothing to track down in the real world before trying to steal your device.

With just a simple trick, iPhone thieves can take everything from you!
