Masquerading as NPC patrolling, Elden Ring gamer successfully deceived players to invade his world

Tram Ho

Overcoming strong enemies with your own strength, players will taste the sweet feeling of victory. But when using intelligence to “outplay” the enemy, the victory honey will become a story of immortality.

Reddit user xdc_lis recently posted a short video showing how the history-worthy story unfolded. By posing as an NPC, pacing the world like a bot, xdc_lis overcame the invader.

To clarify for the uninitiated: like From Software’s other Dark Souls titles, Elden Ring allows gamers to invade other people’s worlds, hunt them down, and take them down to show off their skills.

In the video below, xdc_lis defeated the NPC who patrolled in this area, dressed exactly like him, holding in his hands the items NPCs still hold, making the invader … think this is a real NPC. After several attempts to run back and forth, the invader gave up, powerless to return to his own world.

In the post by xdc_lis, there is a person claiming to be the aggressor in the clip. RadicalAperture said that he followed the compass to find the right place where xdc_lis was hiding, but did not expect xdc_lis to disguise himself as an NPC so convincingly. RadicalAperture concluded that the area was still inhabited by NPCs, so the invader was probably no longer here, so he left.

After the invaders leave, xdc_lis gets a decent amount of runes (the currency in the Elden Ring, which allows the player to upgrade weapons and level up). Normally, only fighting can resolve conflicts, but xdc_lis has demonstrated to the community how wisdom is stronger than violence.
