And, one of the ways chosen by BMW is to cut back on the touch screen feature. Recently, BMW has officially confirmed that it will remove the touch capability from the screen of some models such as 3 series, 4 series (except i4 EV), X5, X6, X7 and Z4.

“This measure is the result of supply chain issues that are affecting the automotive industry worldwide and restricting certain vehicle features and equipment ,” a spokesperson said. of BMW said on Thursday.

In addition to the default BMW software, the aforementioned models will still support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as usual. However, because there is no touch screen, so users will manipulate the interface with control knobs and voice. To “compensate” for the absence of these features, car owners will receive a $500 discount from BMW’s regular price.
