Korean President talks with Vietnamese digital talent

Today (June 24), on the last day of his visit to Vietnam, South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol visited Samsung’s R&D Center in Hanoi.

Here, President Yoon Suk Yeol had a dialogue with about 50 Vietnamese and Korean digital talents at the Innovation Department of Samsung Research and Development Center in Vietnam.

President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk Yeol emphasized the significance of Vietnam and Korea elevating the digital partnership from a manufacturing partner to a key partner in research and development. plans to expand the scale of training programs to improve the capacity of future generations as well as actively support international research cooperation between the two countries, thereby creating innovative values ​​based on on the basis of combining the technical capabilities of the two countries.

Before the dialogue, also at Samsung’s R&D Center in Hanoi, Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol visited the exhibition areas of the Vietnam – Korea Institute of Science and Technology (VKIST) – established on the basis of the Agreement between the Government of Vietnam and the Government of Korea; Korea IT School (KITS) – a place to foster young talents in software engineering in Vietnam; and KH Vatec – the company that holds the number one market share in the electronic components of the folding phone line.

VKIST is Vietnam’s future science and technology research agency built on the model of the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (VKIST). Meanwhile, KH Vatec is a large-scale Korean enterprise in Vietnam, specializing in manufacturing and manufacturing articulating components that act as hinges for foldable phones (Fold/Flip). The enterprise currently holds 80% of the market share of the folding screen components market and has 9 thousand employees.

Appearing at the exhibition, Korea IT School is known as a project built to support training in software engineering (SW) for young Vietnamese talents and at the same time connecting students with technology businesses. Korean information is investing in Vietnam. From 2019 to now, the school has trained 208 students, of which 172 students have been recruited after an internship at Korean enterprises.
