It’s been 15 years since Valve announced Half-Life 2: Episode 3, many gamers are still deeply hopeful

Tram Ho

It seemed like just yesterday, Valve announced a 3-part series that continued the story of Gordon Freeman in Half-Life 1 and 2, the hit game that has stirred up the entire gaming industry in general and the PC game segment in particular. In 2004, Valve announced Half-Life 2, but it’s been 15 years since we first heard about the third episode of Half-Life 2.

Valve has also just released another game based on the story of the Half-Life world, which is the VR version of Alyx, but this is a prequel to HL2. These all old messages still stored on said network promises heartbreaking: the HL2 Episode 3 will be completed in a period before December 2007.

More than a decade later, we still don’t know the end of Half-Life 2, not even sure if our children and grandchildren will be fortunate to witness Gordon Freeman’s journey to the end.

Thin hopes appeared when Half-Life: Alyx officially launched. The VR version of the Half-Life world is widely acclaimed, but not all gamers can experience it, because Alyx requires a huge machine and expensive VR glasses.

The content of Half-Life: Alyx has somewhat mentioned the bad ending that appeared at the end of Half-Life 2, even opening the possibility for a future Half-Life game. So who knows! Maybe we’ll get our own version of Half-Life 3! No one is taxing dreams, and the phrase “who knows” still inspires many people to live day to day.
