iPhone SE2 (iPhone 9) will be released by Apple in early March

According to a new report from Bloomberg, Apple’s upcoming low-cost iPhone will begin mass production next month. This is also the device often referred to by the rumors as iPhone SE 2 or iPhone 9.

With mass production starting next month, the device will be officially launched by Apple in “early March” with production orders shared between the three partners Foxconn, Pegatron and Winstron.

Besides revealing the launch date of this new device, the Bloomberg report also echoed rumors about this cheap iPhone configuration. Equipped with Touch ID in the Home button, this cheap iPhone is like an iPhone 8 with an A13 processor inside. That means it will likely use a 4.7-inch LCD screen and a single camera on the back.

Previous reports from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo showed that the iPhone SE 2 (iPhone 9) will start at around $ 399, significantly cheaper than the $ 449 price of the 64GB iPhone 8. If this price is true, the cheap iPhone with this A13 processor will be a worthwhile upgrade for current low-end iPhone users.

That’s also why Kuo predicts that this upcoming device will target current iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users who are unable to upgrade to iOS 13 this year. If Apple rolls out a device like the iPhone SE 2 with Apple A13, more iPhone users will be upgraded to iOS 13 and be able to access new Apple services like Apple TV + and Apple Arcade.
