iPhone 12 “attracting goods” to help Apple grow rapidly in Vietnam

Recently, market research company Canalys has released data on the market share of smartphone manufacturers in Vietnam in the last Q4 2020. In particular, the thing that people are most interested in is the “speedy” breakthrough of the Apple iPhone.

Compared to the same period last year, in Q4 2020, the iPhone’s market share reached a growth rate of 197%. This impressive growth helped Apple rank 4th in the market share rankings last quarter with 11%. Ranked in the two leading positions are still familiar names Samsung (24%) and Oppo (16%), ranked third is Vivo (13%) and ranked fifth is Vsmart (11%).

Compared with the data also provided by Canalys in the previous quarter, ie Q3 2020, it can be seen that from the absence of a name on the charts, the strong growth of the iPhone in Vietnam helped Apple “knock out” a Another brand is Xiaomi.

It’s not hard to see the reason behind this success of Apple coming from the recently launched iPhone 12 series. High-end iPhone 12 models such as iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max have very strong sales in Vietnam, even leading to out of stock.

Besides the iPhone 12 upgrades in design, camera or 5G network, another equally important factor that keeps the genuine iPhone market vibrant is Apple’s new sales policy. Thanks to a more stable price than portable products, the machine will return soon with guaranteed after-sales; The percentage of users choosing genuine iPhone 12 is also significantly higher than previous years.

However, it is predicted that it will be relatively difficult for Apple to maintain its position in the rankings in the next quarters. Because in Vietnam, the main smartphone segment is still mid-range and cheap (2-7 million VND), which is also the segment that Apple “neglects”. Plus, with demand for iPhone 12 decreasing over time, it is likely that Apple will have to make room for another brand.
