HongGuang MiniEV will launch in Vietnam at the end of this month: The price is expected to be suitable for people with a salary of 15 million, running 170km/charge

After 4 months from the date of news that TMT Motors cooperated with the joint venture GM – SAIC – Wuling, this distributor has closed the schedule to launch the HongGuang MiniEV mini electric car model in Vietnam on June 29. and receive car deposit from June 30. Vehicles are assembled domestically, at the factory located in Hung Yen.

The specific selling price of MiniEV has not been revealed by TMT Motors. However, the leader of this business said that the car price “will help many people with an average income from 13 to 15 million VND/month also have the opportunity to access and realize the dream of cars”.

Currently, the cheapest car model on the market is Kia Morning with the price of 356 million VND. The car belongs to the A segment. Meanwhile, the MiniEV is in the lower segment, with a smaller size and simpler equipment. Therefore, the selling price of MiniEV is likely to be significantly lower than that of A-class cars. MiniEV has a conversion price in Indonesia from about 340 million VND.

Equipment of MiniEV has not been announced specifically, but a representative of TMT Motors has revealed that the car will have 2 versions Standard and Advanced. Versions will have the option of a battery capacity of 9.6 kWh or 13.4 kWh. According to the company’s announcement, this battery gives a maximum travel distance of 120 km and 170 km respectively after a full charge. Currently, the MiniEV can only be charged at home.

According to the announcement from the parent company, the MiniEV has dimensions of length x width x height of 2,917 x 1,493 x 1,621 mm, respectively. The wheelbase is only 1,940 mm. This size is much smaller than a class A car (Morning’s dimensions are 3,595 x 1,595 x 1,490 mm). Therefore, the car only has 2 doors.

Looking from the outside of the car revealed in the factory, it can be seen that the MiniEV in Vietnam is equipped with projector lights, LED positioning lights, side-mounted turn signals, reversing camera and 2 reverse sensors. Inside the MiniEV is 2 rows of seats with 4 seats. The interior of the car is quite simple with a screen behind the steering wheel and air conditioning buttons.

Up to this point, the first MiniEVs have been shipped. A representative of TMT Motors said that those cars are being tested first, then exported to GM’s joint venture to check the quality. When the car meets the new standards, it is assembled commercially and sold to the market.

Wuling HongGuang MiniEV is the first mini electric car model to be sold in Vietnam market, has a leading advantage in the segment, but is facing a “difficult” opponent, VinFast VF 3. The Vietnamese car company has revealed soon some basic information and pictures of VF 3. Compared to equipment and size, VF 3 is superior to MiniEV. However, it was not until the third quarter of next year that VinFast’s mini car model was delivered, which is about 1 year slower than MiniEV.
