Gamers crafted the Nintendo 64 gaming console into a super-compact version that fits in the palm of the hand

Home-held game consoles have grown in popularity since the 70s. The heyday of this type of gaming was in the 80s. Among the most popular Nintendo consoles released in the mid-1990s, it is impossible not to mention the Nintendo 64.

Recently, a gamer in Massachusetts, USA has set a Guinness World Record when he successfully built the world’s smallest Nintendo 64 gaming machine.

Its design is only slightly larger than a cartridge gaming cassette. This custom Nintendo 64 version is the result of Gunnar Turnquist’s passion for the Nintendo 64. It was also the first console he owned.

In fact, the original design of the Nintendo 64 was a rather bulky machine with a height of about 7.2cm, a width of 25.9cm, and a length of about 18.9cm.

The builder’s challenge was to take the hardware of the large console and mount it on a smaller body. Turnquist had to very meticulously and carefully map the motherboard with the motherboard’s intricate connections. As a result, his miniaturized Nintendo 64 does a pretty good job with its 3.5-inch LCD screen. It measures only 8.3cm x 11.7cm x 4.4cm.

Turnquist showed off the “level” Nintendo 64 into a micro version on YouTube channel “GmanModz”. This machine has a battery life of about 1.5 hours. Of course it also incorporates the buttons of the N64 functional controller.

Many people assume that if this homemade product was born in the 1990s, it would be an amazing breakthrough of the game industry at that time, even becoming the “lamp” of guidance for Game makers go further in the future.
