DJI was included in the “Entity List” by the US like Huawei

The well-known Chinese camera accessories and drone maker DJI has now been included in the “Entity List” of America, just like the giant Huawei. Being on this list means DJI will be banned from cooperating with US technology companies, if not licensed.

DJI’s current situation will be similar to that of Huawei. Being put on the list of entities prevents Huawei from doing business with US companies. As a result, Huawei smartphones are not allowed to install Google services and cannot be sold in markets outside of China.

According to Drone DJ and several other news agencies, the US put DJI on the list of entities because the company has close ties with the Chinese government. The US accused DJI of providing equipment to the Chinese government to spy on people in the country.

It is currently unclear what impact this decision will have on DJI. Because unlike Huawei, DJI does not integrate American technologies into its products. As a result, DJI will probably still do well with just a few small changes.

However, if a component component or software originates in the United States, DJI will have to source it from another country instead, or apply for a license to continue the cooperation. Otherwise, DJI will not be able to continue manufacturing that device.

The DJI representative also responded to this information: “DJI is very disappointed with the decision of the US Department of Commerce. Customers in the US can continue to buy and use DJI products as normal. DJI remains committed to developing the most innovative products that benefit the world ”.
