Apple AirTags can work with Android smartphones, making it easier to find

The way AirTags works is to communicate with ultra-wideband-enabled Bluetooth and iPhone devices in the same area. Therefore, if AirTags only works with Apple devices, it will limit efficiency levels, especially in regions where Android smartphones are more popular than iPhones.

However, this level of activity will be quite limited, and you still need to have your iPhone if you want to find the lost AirTags card. AirTags will only work with NFC-enabled Android devices, and only if the AirTags tag is set to misplaced.

First, you’ll need to use your iPhone to activate Lost Mode. Then, if someone has an Android smartphone and finds your lost AirTags tag, they can place the AirTags tag next to the NFC-enabled device for details on how to contact you. They can also only receive your contact information, if AirTags has Lost Mode enabled, so you don’t have to worry about your personal information being exposed.
