Zalo “escapes” to revoke domain names, apply for a social network license to operate

According to the latest updates from the communication department of Zalo, this application has not been revoked temporarily. Instead, according to a source, the solution is to obtain a social network license to continue working with the two domain names.

Elsewhere, Vietnam Internet Network Information Center (VNNIC) under the Ministry of Information and Communications has received a written request for revocation of two Zalo domain names of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Information and Communications.

However, as mentioned above, domain name recovery has not been processed yet. According to a source, the Zalo side worked with the Ministry of Information and Communications leaders, acknowledged the mistake and gave a remedy.

Zalo is currently the second highest user application in Vietnam. According to data from the Ministry of Information and Communications, the number of Zalo users each month reached 46.7 million, just behind Facebook and higher than YouTube. Meanwhile, information from Zalo said this application has reached over 100 million people downloaded and registered to use.
