Xiaomi launches Redmi MAX TV 86 inch: 4K, scan frequency 120Hz, HDMI v2.1, price 28.5 million

Yesterday (February 25), Redmi – the sub-brand of Xiaomi has officially launched the Redmi K40 series of phones in China. During the event, the company also introduced a new Smart TV model, dubbed the 86-inch Redmi MAX TV.

It is known that this is the second TV belonging to the Redmi MAX line. It is equipped with 86-inch LCD screen with LED-backlit technology, supports 4K resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels) and has a refresh rate of 120Hz. Meanwhile, last year’s model only had a 60Hz display and MEMC motion compensation technology – one of the features also present on this year’s model.

In addition, the 86-inch Redmi MAX TV screen also supports 10-bit color, HDR10, HDR10 +, HLG, Dolby Vision and 92% DCI-P3 color gamut with DeltaE color deviation <2.This TV still has angle look 178 ° like the previous generation.

Inside, the Redmi MAX TV possesses the hardware power coming from a quad-core CPU (ARM Cortex-A73), ARM Mali-G52 MC1 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of memory. In terms of software, it comes pre-installed with MIUI 3.0 interface for TV when sold, comes with lots of entertainment software and smart features like XiaoAI voice assistant.

Redmi MAX TV 86 inch supports dual band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, infrared, two USB-A ports, one AV port, ATV / DTMB, S / PDIF, network port and three HDMI ports. One of the three HDMI ports is v2.1, which supports 120Hz VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) and ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode). Therefore, users can connect Sony PlayStation 5 or Microsoft Xbox Series X to play 4K 120Hz games.

Finally, in terms of sound, this TV is equipped with 2 12.5W speakers with maximum sound output of 25W, with support for Dolby Atmos and DTS-HD.

Price and time of release

As expected, the 86-inch Redmi MAX TV will start on shelves in China from March 4 for 7999 yuan (about 28.5 million). Currently, it is not clear whether Redmi intends to distribute this TV model in the international market.
