Vingroup manufactures breathing apparatus components for Medtronic, meeting strict international standards

Medtronic PLC is one of the world’s largest corporations in medical solutions, services and technology, providing healthcare solutions and services in over 150 countries. Medtronic’s ventilator products are considered a survival device in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, in which the air blower is the core component.

According to the cooperation agreement, VinSmart has become a partner in manufacturing air blower components for Medtronic PLC’s breathing machines since June 2020. In particular, the air blower division is designed and completely developed by VinSmart and VinFast. This component is rated for absolute perfection and accuracy, meeting global export standards.

The first batch of air blowers cooperated by the two sides was exported in the first week of August. With a target of exporting 50,000 units of blowers to the US and Ireland before the end of 2020, Vingroup makes all efforts to respond to the urgent production needs of Medtronic ventilators.

Before that, Vingroup received the technology transfer to manufacture PB560 ventilator from Medtronic. After 3 months of research on PB560 model, Vingroup has successfully developed the Vsmart VFS-510 ventilator, with 70% of the localized components. The product has been licensed for circulation by the Vietnamese Ministry of Health and has been exported in the first batch to Russia, Ukraine and Singapore.
