Google officially launched the Doodle 4 Google competition on Wednesday, inviting local children to create a logo for Vietnam’s Google homepage.

Themed “Draw your dreams,” the now annual competition is open to Vietnamese children aged 7-15.

The contest closes on January 26, 2015.

Eighteen entries that make it to the final round will be displayed on the website www.google.com/doodle4google. Each of the 18 entrants will receive a bicycle and a gift certificate.

The winning entry will be displayed on the Google Vietnam homepage on March 6, 2015.

Doodles are the spontaneous changes made to the Google logo in celebration of holidays, anniversaries and the lives of famous artists, pioneers and scientists who have helped shape history.

The idea for doodles first began in 1998. Since then, over 2,000 doodles have been featured on Google’s home pages around the world.

The Doodle 4 Google competition stopped in 25 countries before coming to Vietnam.
