The new Windows 10 update allows users to type Vietnamese freely without third software

Could you say goodbye to Vietnamese typing software that has been used for decades?

In October 2018, users who tried the Windows 10 Build 18267 update experience Vietnamese Telex and Number-key based (VNI) Vietnamese percussion. Thanks to positive feedback and increasing demand, Microsoft officially introduced Vietnamese keyboard in Windows 10 19H1 Update.

With the application installed on this machine, you can type Vietnamese easily on any application, from Microsoft products such as Edge browser, Office suite to Chrome, Firefox and more.

Here are the steps you need to take to get the Vietnamese typing experience on Windows 10.

Step 1: Select Start (Windows key)> Settings> Time> Language.

Step 2 : Select the symbol (+) with the label [Add a preferred language] (or go directly to step 4 if Vietnamese has been added before).

Step 3: Type “Vietnamese” in the search box and select Vietnamese and press the Next key to install Vietnamese on your device. Then you return to the Language page.

Step 4: Click Vietnamese, and then press the Options button. You will be taken to the Language options: Vietnamese page.

Step 5: Select the symbol (+) with label [Add a keyboard] (or go directly to step 7 if the keyboard you want has been added earlier).

Step 6: Now you can add Telex or VNI keyboards as you like.

Step 7: Press the language display key on the taskbar (or press the Windows + Space key combination) and select Vietnamese Telex or Number Key-based (VNI).

You can type Vietnamese without the third software!

If you want to switch between Vietnamese and English keyboards, use the “Windows + Space” or “Alt + Shift” key combination.

Simple right? Hopefully the keyboards on Mac OS will soon be updated so that Vietnamese users will not have to suffer any more.
