At the 2023 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders held on April 6, Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of FPT Corporation emphasized ” FPT has very special opportunities and unprecedented great positions “.

The first opportunity , he revealed recently, a leading electronics company in Tokyo (Japan) decided to assign FPT to maintain computer systems , a contract worth 40 million USD, because FPT can reduce costs them up to 50% and communicates with them in Japanese, which means that FPT is providing them with Japanese quality service at Vietnamese prices.

” The world will move to DX 365, which is a new technology that the world is under-resourced. FPT is in a position to be able to maintain large systems for global corporations because of its ubiquitous presence and commitment to speaking customers’ native languages ,” he affirmed. The difference of FPT compared to other technology companies is that any language is available.

For example, providing services in American countries such as Brazil, Costa Rica… needs Spanish very much and FPT already has a Spanish speaking force. Or in Morocco (Africa), there is a very good French speaking source.

” This is a job that if we capture it, it will have a very, very large scale, ” said Mr. Binh.

The second opportunity of FPT is Cobol, most banks are using this language. FPT has its own experience, translates many Cobol languages ​​in the world, has technology and human resources.

The third opportunity is that when car manufacturers gradually move to electric cars, FPT has experience in making software for cars and is a rare computer company in the world participating in the electric car industry.

Tesla has ushered in a revolution in the automotive industry when moving from a mechanical car to a digital car, or in other words, a modern computer. Automakers used to think this was a pastime, but it eventually became the mainstream. Previously, Mr. Binh had been to BMW and the company said they did not make electric cars, but now it is different.

“Fortunately, FPT wrote car computer chips 20 years ago, we are a rare computer company in the world participating in the electric car industry. We work with almost all auto parts manufacturers. 

FPT has sold 3 operating systems to 3 automakers. FPT can be said to be the number one in the world in terms of ADAS (driver assistance system), power electronics; and can be in the top 5 companies, if Russia and China are excluded, FPT is in the top 3 in software for the automotive engineering industry ” – FPT Chairman affirmed.

He also emphasized that this is an industry that will witness great growth and is one of the values ​​that bring “happiness” to FPT.

In addition, answering a question from a shareholder, FPT Chairman said that after 20 years in the international market, FPT has continuously grown at a high rate even during the Covid-19 period for the following reasons:

Technology companies reaching out to the world have a scale that includes 3 countries: India, China and Vietnam. But after a period of hot growth, China has gradually withdrawn, now there are only two countries worth mentioning in the world, namely India and Vietnam.
