At CES 2020, Samsung held a private meeting with important partners, not allowing media to attend. During this closed session, Samsung revealed its next foldable smartphone, and also talked about its decision to use the name Galaxy S20 instead of the upcoming Galaxy S11.

Information from this private meeting was leaked and reported by Korean media, in which CEO DJ Koh talked about upcoming products. A screenshot of the presentation also shows Samsung’s next foldable smartphone, called Galaxy Bloom. However, the reason for using this name was not disclosed.

DJ Koh explained that the design of the Galaxy Bloom foldable smartphone was inspired by Lancôme’s makeup powder box. Samsung has carefully researched the user, and designed this smartphone to target women users, aged 20-30.

That’s why Galaxy Bloom has a folding screen design vertically, not horizontally like Galaxy Fold. Besides, this smartphone also has a non-premium configuration and affordable price, to suit the female audience.

At the same meeting, Mr. Koh confirmed that the next Galaxy S11 will be launched as Galaxy S20. Samsung is looking to pursue a new marketing strategy for its products for a new decade. The next flagship smartphones to be launched are the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 + and Galaxy S20 Ultra.
