Samsung has patented a screen with a front-facing sensor that sticks out

As described by the patent, the design has a screen module with a protruding part at the top center of the smartphone. With this design, the display percentage of the screen will be optimized (because the camera and sensor part, the speaker is located at this protruding part).

Functionally, this is an innovative solution but in terms of design it will not necessarily achieve aesthetic factors.

In fact, all smartphones that have been uniquely designed in recent times are mostly aimed at solving the problem of placing the front camera sensor, taking up screen space. Many solutions have been introduced such as pop-up camera, water-drop "groove" section, perforated screen, rotating camera or dual screen.

The camera module under the screen is the latest attempt to create a truly frameless smartphone. However, it is too early to comment because this technology is in the early development stage. Samsung , Xiaomi and Oppo are the leaders in these efforts, but a few others are quietly doing the same.
