Like most other major brands, Samsung also regularly leaks product information early, even months before the launch time. However, it seems that the Korean technology company has found a new way to combat information leakage.
The last time Samsung was heavily affected by rumors and leaked images was a series of products launched in early August such as Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy Buds 2. Although Samsung has been many times sending reminders, even announcing to the media about the published images. But this doesn’t seem to work.
Now Samsung has a new solution. Accordingly, contracts with partners will prohibit employees who have previously worked at competitors’ factories from participating in the process and having access to Samsung’s confidential information.
In addition, the partner company must immediately notify Samsung if an employee is fired. If the partner companies violate at least one of the conditions, they will face a fine of $85,000.
The new rules do not apply to all Samsung partners. There are two versions of the contract, standard, unlimited, and extended, for companies deeply involved in Samsung’s manufacturing processes involving semiconductors and other critical components.
The new measures apply not only to the leaks but also to the recent battle between Samsung and Mujin Electronics.
This is a company that previously cooperated with the Korean giant but was later found to “disclose” technical secrets to rival companies in China. Soon after, Samsung stopped cooperating with this company.
