According to the latest statistics from market research firm Strategy Analytics, Samsung's market share in China smartphone market in Q2 / 2019 is less than 1%. Specifically, Samsung shipped only about 700,000 smartphones in China in the past 3 months, accounting for 0.7% of the market share.

Over the past few years, Samsung's smartphone business in China has been in constant trouble. In 2016, Samsung accounted for 4.9% market share in this country but fell to only 2.1% in 2017. Last year, Samsung's market share fell below 1%.

However, earlier this year the Korean giant came back strong and won 1.1% market share in China. This success stems from the popularity of the Chinese Galaxy S10 as well as other new Samsung strategies. However, in Q2 when the Galaxy S10 reduced heat, Samsung's market share also decreased.

However, the king in Samsung's global smartphone market is still unaffected. Q2 / 2019 Samsung sold 76.3 million smartphones, accounting for 22.3% of the global market share. Huawei accounted for the second with 17.2% market share, sold 58.7 million smartphones.

Apple is behind Huawei with 11.1% market share and 38 million iPhone sales. Xiaomi and Oppo ranked 4th and 5th with sales of 32 million and 29.8 million with market share of 9.4% and 8.7% respectively.

In China, Huawei led the way with 37.3% market share while Oppo ranked second with 19.7%. The third position belonged to Vivo with 18.5% while Xiaomi ranked 4 with 12% market share. A total of 4 companies accounted for 85% market share of China's smartphone market.

Hopefully, with the launch of Galaxy Note 10 tonight in Vietnam time, Samsung's Q3 / 2019 business results in China will get better.
