Prime Minister urged the Vietnamese startup community not to be afraid of failure, dare to start a business to create regional and world-class “unicorns”.

Techfest VietNam 2022 with the theme ” Open Innovation – Opening New Thoughts”, organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Binh Duong Provincial People’s Committee at Binh Duong Convention and Exhibition Center takes place from December 2 to 4, 2022.

Attending and speaking in the “Imprint” Program within the framework of Techfest 2022, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh welcomed and highly appreciated the organization of Techfest 2022 to promote the spirit of entrepreneurship and create favorable conditions for managers, investors, businesses and organizations supporting domestic and international start-ups to exchange, exchange experiences, learn and connect, cooperate for a dynamic, creative community, prosperity and development.

“Our seeds are good, but a good garden is a necessary condition for those seeds to germinate and grow.”

The Prime Minister affirmed that entrepreneurship, innovation, and business promotion are always an important driving force and resource in the development of each country, especially in the era of the fourth industrial revolution.

“ Through the images, videos, and “imprints” that the Ministry of Science and Technology reported today, we can see some of Vietnam’s innovative and start-up businesses worth billions of dollars. USD has been formed and developed both at home and abroad. Vietnamese wisdom, Vietnamese will, Vietnamese creativity have been gradually asserting and reaching out to the world”.

“I strongly support and affirm that it is extremely necessary and valuable to develop a favorable environment for entrepreneurship, innovation, and an innovative startup ecosystem. In my opinion, resources originate from thinking, motivation originates from innovation, innovation and entrepreneurship originate from culture and strength originates from the people. Our seeds are good, but a good garden is a necessary condition for those seeds to germinate, grow, and create greater added values ”, said the Prime Minister.

Over the years, the Party and State of Vietnam have adopted many guidelines and policies to create the most favorable conditions and environment for start-ups and innovation. The Government concretizes by mechanisms and policies, promulgates the legal framework and projects to support the national innovation startup ecosystem. This is an important legal foundation for the startup-creative ecosystem to thrive in Vietnam.

Ministries, sectors and localities also have their own programs and projects to promote the start-up and innovation movement. Most of the provinces and cities directly under the Central Government have issued plans to implement Project 844 to support the startup ecosystem. In addition, the Youth Union also launched a program to support youth start-ups. Dynamic development ecosystem with about 140 universities, academies, colleges having creative start-up activities, establishing incubators, centers, clubs… to support long-term start-ups.

Up to now, Vietnam continues to maintain its ranking in the group of 45 leading countries globally on the Innovation Index (GII) of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

Calling on the startup community to dare to face challenges, not be afraid of failure, to dare to start a business to create regional and world-class “unicorns”.

“ Although encouraging initial results have been achieved, due to a slower starting point, Vietnam’s startup and innovation ecosystem is still far from that of some countries in the region and the world. in the world ,” said the Prime Minister.

“In order to close this gap soon and turn Vietnam into a strong country in terms of startups and innovation, ministries, sectors, localities, agencies and units need solutions to connect startups and innovation. innovative with knowledge, science and technology and unique characteristics of the country and people of Vietnam. Defining entrepreneurship and innovation is the task of all levels, branches, localities, agencies, units, the whole political system, the whole people and each individual; deploy synchronously, extensively, regularly and continuously, but with focus, focus and efficiency”.

The Prime Minister called on scientists, organizations, individuals, businesses, domestic and foreign investors to make more active contributions to Vietnam’s startup and innovation cause.

At the same time, calling on the Vietnamese startup and innovation community, especially the young generation, to continue to promote the temperament, bravery and human intelligence of Vietnam, dare to face difficulties and challenges, not fear of failure; have strong motivation, enthusiasm, faith and burning passion, dare to think, dare to do, dare to innovate, create, dare to start a business to create regional and world-class “unicorns”, contributing part of building a strong and prosperous Vietnam.
