Following the incident, the online food delivery platform Now gave its first feedback to the driver community and the media. Accordingly, Now said the new policy aims to increase competitiveness in the market and improve service quality for users. At the same time, Now affirmed: “The change of this new bonus structure is entirely in the roadmap to adjust the business operation policy and balance the general financial structure of the company”.

The platform also said: “Now bonuses have been in place for quite a long time. The volatility of the market economy and society requires us to be flexible in each period. This is the time Now to make that change. The adjustment of the bonus level is not only a way for Now to catch up with the market, but we also want the drivers to have more motivation to be more active, to be recognized for their efforts. more deserving ”.

The new policy has been announced by Now from June 28, applying in Ho Chi Minh City from July 29 and Hanoi from August 12. Now also says this policy has been communicated to each of the partners. However, some drivers of the driver group may still have many questions to discuss regarding the program, leading to the August 12 incident.

The Now side also confirmed that it had sent a representative to work with a part of the team of drivers who were not satisfied with the new policy to find a solution. “Of course, exchanging and helping partners understand the core issue of this policy change will take a lot of time, so it is difficult to avoid it has made some drivers seem quite good. pressing, ”emphasizes Now information.

In addition, a representative of this food delivery platform said that it was conducting a dialogue with the representatives of the group of urgent driver partners to find out the cause and explain carefully the new policy of Now.

According to the research, the driver’s income received includes two main sources, which are direct income on orders and a bonus policy by rank. As with other online apps, Now’s bonus policy is constantly changing.

Now old bonus policy

In this change, the bonus level is divided into more levels and the maximum daily bonus is up to 360,000 VND / day, an increase compared to the old rate of 315,000 VND / day.

For example, the driver is at level 5 and has a daily score of 101-180. With the old policy, the maximum bonus the driver will receive is 91,000 VND. If applying under the new policy, the scale is divided into 2 landmarks, 101-140 and 141-180, so the maximum bonus for the driver is 104,000 or 120,000 VND.

The new bonus policy is divided into more tiers and also increases the difficulty

Thus, compared to the old program, the bonus level is divided into more levels. Compared to the old program, the total income will increase if the driver reaches level 5 but the lower levels will decrease. However, the “difficulty” to reach bonus points has also been significantly increased.

Many drivers said that with this bonus program, level 1 drivers (usually part time drivers) do not get bonus points, but only apply from level 2 with a maintenance score of 1.801 – which is already difficulty level. That is not to mention that the bonus between levels has also decreased, making the revenue of the majority of drivers also affected.

A driver shared: The new policy forces sales to force many part-time drivers to run into full time if they want to get enough points to maintain the bonus milestones. Drivers have to work 14-15 hours / day continuously and have no holidays, but without insurance, other policies are what frustrates many drivers.

Meanwhile, the Now side said: “The new bonus policy brings more stable income for the drivers who have chosen to stick with the company for a long time and have high productivity, not afraid of difficulties. However, the inevitable downside is that it will affect the reward level for some drivers who operate infrequently or only choose near, easy to go orders.
