On June 3, 2020, the Prime Minister approved the National Digital Transformation Program to 2025 with a vision to 2030 and considered 2020 as the Year of the National Digital Transformation.

The Minister of Information and Communications sets a target in 2020: 100% of ministries, branches and localities have completed the digital transformation strategy, and 100% of ministries, branches and localities have a data-sharing platform. Whether. 100% of the information systems of ministries, branches and provinces have 4 layers of protection.

In order to contribute to the realization of these important goals, the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) and the Department of Information Technology – the Ministry of Information and Communications will jointly organize the IT Summit – Vietnam ICT Summit – DX Day Vietnam2020, will take place on December 14-15, 2020 in Hanoi. The program is identified as a key annual activity aimed at discussing and sharing experiences, and at the same time introducing solutions for Vietnamese businesses to convert digitally effectively.

This year, DX Day Vietnam 2020 will focus on 6 specific groups of industries, considered as the first and capable of leading the digital transformation in Vietnam, including: Agriculture, Health, Logistics, Finance and Banking. Goods, Industrial Manufacturing, and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

Vietnam Digital Transformation Day 2020 is expected to attract more than 2,500 direct participants and more than 10,000 online delegates.

Around the world, the digital transformation trend, especially under the influence of the Covid-19 pandemic, is taking place more strongly than ever. It is estimated that over 1.2 billion students have to study online, and 30% of patients have to do distance examination. According to a latest report, Tata Consultancy surveyed over 300 global corporations, it is expected that by 2025, 40% of personnel will be working remotely.

Meanwhile, Vietnam is one of the few countries that very well control the spread of the pandemic, the economy with the highest forecast of positive growth in the region and the continent, the rare bright spot in the world. Vietnam has a large and important position in the international arena, both economically and politically. More than ever, this is a golden period, a golden opportunity for Vietnam to strongly promote digital transformation in order to raise and maintain this important position.
