The Windows 10 1903 update may cause the Remote Access Connection Manager (RASMAN) service to crash.

According to Microsoft, the RASMAN-related error affects users of Windows 10 version 1903 when the update package KB4497935 has been installed. The user may see the 0xc0000005 error message or the RASMAN service stops working. An error occurs when the computer sets “non-default telemetry” to a value of 0.

“You can get an error message in the Application section of Windows Logs (Windows Journal) through the Event Viewer tool with the ID 1000 code referring to svchost.exe_RasMan and rasman.dll files,” Microsoft announced.

More importantly, the problem occurs with devices that are configured to always connect to VPN (virtual private network). Meanwhile users installing manual VPN are not affected. According to Forbes , the rate of using VPN is increasing, causing the number of people with problems with Microsoft errors to be significant.

Earlier this year, the US software giant announced it had more than 800 million computers installed with Windows 10. AdDuplex said Windows 10 1903 accounted for 6.3% of all computers running Windows 10, equivalent to 50 million devices, as of mid 2019.
