Honor Magic Vs folding screen smartphone launched: Ultra-light body, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, priced from VND 26 million

Honor has recently introduced a new generation of folding screen smartphone, Magic Vs, successor to the Magic V launched nearly a year ago. The upgraded version improves the durability of the hinge, has a lighter body as well as more powerful hardware.

Honor Magic Vs has a glass or imitation leather body with a magnesium alloy frame, and is 6.1mm thin in open mode and 12.9mm in folded mode. The device weighs only 261 grams, which is lighter than the MIX Fold 2 from Xiaomi, which was the lightest folding screen smartphone in the world at the time of its launch.

Magic Vs is equipped with a 7.9-inch main screen with an almost square ratio, using a flexible OLED panel with a resolution of 1984 x 2272, a refresh rate of 120Hz and a brightness of 800 nits. The secondary screen of the device has a size of 6.45 inches, FHD + resolution, is an OLED screen and also has a 120Hz refresh rate. This screen parameter is almost unchanged compared to its predecessor.

Honor says it has upgraded the durability of the hinge. Instead of having up to 92 components, the hinge of the machine now has only 4 components, while maintaining durability and sturdiness. This hinge has been tested by Honor and can withstand up to 400,000 folds, meaning that if folded and unfolded 100 times a day, it would take up to 10 years of continuous use to damage the hinge.

Regarding the camera, Honor Magic Vs is equipped with a cluster of 3 main cameras on the back, including a 54MP IMX800 wide-angle camera, a 50MP super wide-angle camera and an 8MP 3X telephoto camera. The device has a 16MP selfie camera on the secondary screen.

In terms of performance, Honor equips Magic Vs with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, 8GB/12GB RAM and 256GB/512GB memory. The battery has a capacity of 5000mAh, supports 66W fast charging.

The starting price of Honor Magic Vs in China is 7499 yuan, equivalent to 26 million. In addition, Honor also launched an Ultimate version with 16GB RAM and Magic Pen support, connecting via Bluetooth. This version costs 10,888 yuan, equivalent to 37.8 million. The device will be available at the end of this month.
