Google Pixel 4 XL has a glass back error after a period of use

Tram Ho

Google hardware products often encounter certain defects right from the factory. After 5 years of developing the Pixel phone, the search giant is still lagging behind because it is too subjective in product quality testing.

Recently, some users on technology forums have suddenly complained about their Pixel 4 XL with back glass peeling after a long time of use. In fact, this problem has been present on the Pixel 4 XL since its launch, but so far, the percentage of users encountered has started to rise.

“It’s like the glue between the glass back and the frame is getting weaker, causing the parts to separate,” a Pixel 4 XL user complained on Reddit. Another user, meanwhile, said he changed the warranty for 4 Pixel 4 XLs in the past 10 months, just because of the case of peeling glass back.

According to an individual, claiming to be the general manager of uBreakiFix – Google’s authorized repair partner, the problem could be due to a faulty connector between the battery and motherboard, resulting in the battery bulging and causing the back of the glass to come apart after a period of use.

However, it is not clear whether the bulging battery is the main cause of the back of the glass being swung out, but it is also a possibility. In addition, this could be a processing error or the glue used to attach the back of the glass to the frame is too weak.

Some Pixel 4 XL users have reported a problem with Google and have their warranty changed to a new device, but not everyone is so lucky. At the moment, Google has yet to comment on the issue.
