At the X Summit 2021 program, Fujifilm camera company brought to users 3 new products, in which the focus was on the GFX100s and X-E4 cameras. The two cameras have a Medium Format sensor, an APS-C crop sensor is aimed at ‘losing weight’, increasing compactness for users to easily use everywhere.
Fujifilm GFX100s: Medium Format resolution 102MP in Full-frame body
In 2019, Fujifilm surprised users by announcing the GFX100 with a 102-megapixel Medium Format sensor and a host of high-end features that no other camera on the market had. The biggest downside of the product is that it is cumbersome, making it difficult to carry as well as work.
GFX100s lighter than GFX100 by nearly 500g!
That is the reason for the GFX100s version was developed, giving users what GFX100 can do in a slimmer body, only equivalent to Full-frame DSLRs. The device will still use the 102-megapixel Medium Format sensor 1.7 times larger than the Full-frame to provide the ability to remove fonts, reproduce light fluctuations, and reduce noise at a strong high ISO. This sensor is supported by a 6-step 5-axis anti-vibration system, which is 20% smaller and 10% lighter than the system used in the predecessor GFX100.
The camera’s focusing system includes phase-detection points, covering 100% of the sensor with the ability to focus in 0.16 seconds and at a low light threshold of just -5.5Ev. With the X-Processor 4 chip, GFX100s will own the face-focus system, the face works more efficiently than the GFX100.
The body is water and dust resistant, works in -10 ° C conditions.
The GFX100s video recording capability is also not ‘mediocre’ with 4K30p recording in CODEC H.264 or H265, 400Mbps 10-bit 4: 2: 0 F-log high bitrate when recording to SD card or up to 10-bit. 4: 2: 2 F-Log and 12-bit Apple ProRes RAW when used with an external recorder using the HDMI port.
The 3.2-inch screen of the machine can be rotated in 1 direction, 2.36MP resolution and integrated touch
GFX100s is priced at 6000 USD and will be sold in March this year.
Accompanying the GFX100s is a new GF lens called GF80mm f / 1.7 R WR , introduced by Fujifilm as the first lens for the Medium Format camera system with a large f / 1.7 aperture. The lens has 12 lens elements divided into 9 parts, with 2 aspherical elements and 2 low dispersion elements. The lens is manufactured with a high-quality, precision process up to 1 / 100,000 millimeters that reduces ‘streaking’ bokeh. This product will be priced at 2500 USD and will also be sold in March this year.
Fujifilm X-E4: The most compact APS-C X-series camera ever
The X-E4 is the 4th generation of the XE range-to-finder, and is also touted by Fujifilm as the most compact X-mount camera ever, weighing in at just 362g. It owns a 26.1MP X-Trans CMOS sensor with X-Processor 4. Its focus system covers 100% of the sensor area and is capable of focusing in just 0.02 seconds in light conditions – 7.0EV.
In terms of video recording, the camera can record 4Kp30 4: 2: 0 8-bit to SD card and 4: 2: 2 10-bit via HDMI, along with fullHD 240fps slo-mo.
This is probably also the Fujifilm camera with the most minimalistic design ever, when both the front and back are flat, with no protruding grip, along with a refined button system. reduced, no redundant details. Even the LCD screen is also designed to be as thin as possible so that when not flipped out, it will lie completely flat with the back.
The Fujifilm X-E4 is priced at $ 850 for the camera body alone and $ 1050 when purchased with the 27mm f / 4 R WR lens.
