Appeared 5.5G network with 10Gb/s download speed

In early June, the alliance of Huawei, China Mobile and a number of Chinese companies launched 5G-Advanced advanced network with expected download speeds of 10Gb/s, upload 1GB/s.

5G networks have been around for a long time, and in theory, under ideal conditions 5G should also give a maximum download speed of 10Gb / s. However, in fact, the 5G connection is only from 800 Mbps to 1 Gb / s when downloading.

According to the announcement, the 5G-A network operates simply, intelligently, and achieves super-high speeds, so it is expected to achieve actual average download speeds many times higher than 5G. In addition, 5G-A also promises to help China connect about 100 billion IoT devices with low cost, high-precision identification and positioning capabilities.

5G-A is currently 3GPP approved. If you do not know, 3GPP is a global communication standards-setting organization, representing about 700 companies including many big technology companies such as Apple, Google and Huawei.

Two years ago, Huawei mentioned 5G-A as 5.5G at the Global Mobile Broadband Forum (MBBF 2020). At that time, Ken Hu, Vice President of Huawei Ken Hu predicted that 5G would change the way users live, connect and work.

Currently, 5G services in China have been deployed in many industries, providing speeds of hundreds of Mbps.

Not only upgrading the 5G network, Huawei is also expected to deploy 6G network from 2030. As expected, 6G will reach speeds of 1 TB/s, 100 times faster than 5G, outperforming in indicators such as latency, density. throughput, connection density, mobility and spectrum efficiency.
