Annoyed because the Wi-Fi lecture hall is too slow, FPT students hack the school website

Tram Ho

On the evening of January 18, according to some users, FPT University website library.fpt.edu.vn was hacked. This is an internal website, showing the university library books that students can borrow.

This website has been changed by a “hacker”, most likely students attending this school. “Hacker” has left the content: “Ask FPT HCM to change Wi-Fi for each classroom, pay not to buy 3G or 4G SIM cards. Thank you”.

Noting comments from the online community, many of which are students studying in FPT, the network status at this university lecture hall is not really good. With FPT being a specialized university in the field of IT and Internet considered the “backbone” of this industry, plus the “top” tuition fees in Vietnam, it is not surprising to see the backlash from Student side.

Many other students also complained about the network quality at FPT University

However, most agree that this “hacker” solution is unreasonable, when students behind this incident may be subject to discipline from the school.

FPT University then quickly overcome the temporary problem by redirecting the website on its homepage. By the morning of January 19, the website of the FPT University library was completely restored and accessible normally.

Website returned to normal operation on the morning of January 19

This is not the first time FPT University has been hacked by its own students. In 2012, a student hacked into the school’s server to cheat test results and edit another student’s test. This incident then attracted the attention of the domestic IT circles.
