America’s richest billionaires 2022: Facebook boss leaves the Top 10

Forbes magazine has just announced the list of 400 richest people in America in 2022 (Forbes 400). Forbes 400’s total wealth this year is $4 trillion, down 11% from last year. From the number 3 position of 2021, Mark Zuckerberg – CEO Meta (Facebook’s parent company) did not enter the Top 10 this year.

Here is a list of the 10 richest people in America. Billionaires’ fortunes are based on stock prices as of September 2.

1. Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla

Net worth: $251 billion

Elon Musk is still the richest billionaire in the US with a fortune of $251 billion – $100 billion more than second-place Jeff Bezos. Besides Tesla, Musk is also a co-founder of space technology company SpaceX – one of the most valuable startups in the US.

2. Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon

Net worth: 151 billion USD

3. Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft

Net worth: 106 billion USD

The Microsoft co-founder used to be the richest man in America and the world for many consecutive years. Last May, Mr. Gates and Mrs. Melinda announced their divorce after 27 years of marriage. 4. Larry Elison, co-founder of Oracle
