According to Bloomberg, Apple is facing an unprecedented wave of senior executives leaving. Apple has always been known as a company with stability in leadership positions.

However, according to Bloomberg, from the second half of 2022, Apple has lost at least 11 senior executives. Most of these people hold the title of vice president, or director, and report directly to CEO Tim Cook.

They are some of the most important people at Apple, responsible for running many of the company’s core functions.

The senior employees who leave are mainly in charge of fields related to industrial design, online stores, information systems, and Apple’s cloud services.

In addition, there are personnel in hardware and software engineering, privacy, sales in emerging markets and procurement services. About 11 key people at Apple have left the company.

For the situation to happen now – not to mention someone retiring, the senior leadership leaving, leaving or going to another company is remarkable.

Of course, there are also a host of executives to be replaced. Apple has appointed a new chief human resources officer to take on the duties of retail boss Deirde O’Brien and a chief information officer to replace Mary Demby and David Smoley.

The departure of a series of employees forced Apple to reallocate the roles of old people. For example, Karen Rasmussen will replace Anna Matthiasson in charge of the Apple online store, Yannick Bertolus will replace Laura Legros in the hardware segment.

Jeremy Sandmel and David Biderman will jointly lead the software business in place of John Stauffer. However, in some areas such as industrial design or privacy control, the company has not yet chosen the right leadership.

According to Bloomberg, the departure of senior personnel may be due to the increasing pressure of the job. However, besides that, analysts believe that there are a number of other reasons.

For example, Apple is said to have become more bureaucratic over the years, especially when it comes to product development. In addition, Apple’s too large scale makes individual differences unnoticed. Internal politics and divisional controversy also make governance difficult.

Finally, it’s also important to remember that the biggest reason people decide to quit their job is money. Apple stock fell 30% last year, after three years of strong gains.

This affects the salary. In the case of a Vice President, the stock issue caused him to lose half of his earnings.

Tim Cook himself is also affected. More than 80% of Cook’s 2023 earnings will be paid in stock, 75% of which is related to the company’s business performance.
