Xiaomi Mi MIX 2020 reveals an extremely unique design, two screens, no selfie camera

Last year, Xiaomi launched the Mi MIX Alpha smartphone with an extremely unique design, the screen covers the entire body with a rate of up to 180%. This smartphone seems to be from the future, and so far, it’s still just a concept on display in a glass case.

However, it must be admitted that Xiaomi is always looking for new, innovative and unimaginable smartphone designs. In 2020, Xiaomi may continue to launch another Mi MIX with a unique design.

A patent registered under the name “Xiaomi MIX 2020” has just been revealed. Maybe this is the Mi MIX that Xiaomi will launch this year. The smartphone has a full-screen, spotless design, and a secondary screen on the back.

As described by the patent, the Mi MIX 2020 does not have a selfie camera. Thanks to that, the screen of the smartphone retains its integrity, and almost accounts for 100%, with ultra-thin borders. It is also possible that Xiaomi will integrate camera technology hidden below the screen.

The back design of the Mi MIX 2020 is quite interesting, when it is equipped with an extra screen located below the dual camera cluster. This second secondary screen can display date, time, battery capacity, notifications or incoming calls. Besides, it can also be used as a viewfinder to take selfies.

This could be Xiaomi’s solution, to remove the selfie camera and keep the design full screen. However, this dual screen design is not the first time. We’ve seen it on Vivo NEX smartphones before, though it’s still not quite as useful.
