Xiaomi has just launched a new true wireless headset model in China, called FlipBuds Pro. This is the company’s first wireless headset equipped with active noise cancellation (ANC) technology, aimed at the high-end segment and has a design similar to AirPods Pro.
From the outside, it is hard to deny that Xiaomi FlipBuds Pro is largely inspired by AirPods Pro, with a short body and curved housing like Apple’s headphones. However, it comes in only one color option, black, and is mirror coated with NCVM nano-coating for a more premium look.
This headset model is equipped with Qualcomm’s QCC5151 audio processor chip, along with 11mm driver. The product supports Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, and according to Xiaomi, it can fully provide a good audio experience for low-latency tasks, including gaming – as long as you connect it to a select number of smartphones. from Xiaomi such as Mi MIX Fold, Mi 11 series, Mi 10 series, Redmi K40 series, Redmi K30 series and Redmi Note 9 Pro.
In terms of gestures, FlipBuds Pro also supports the same controls as AirPods Pro. Users only need to squeeze and hold the body of the left or right earbud to switch between Crosstalk and Noise Canceling modes, as well as squeeze once to play/pause/accept calls, squeeze twice to jump to next track or reject the call.
Notably, Xiaomi’s new true wireless headset is also capable of seamlessly switching between smartphones and laptops. Alternatively, you can also connect these 2 pairs of headphones to the same phone or computer to share the audio output between the two.
Regarding active noise cancellation, Xiaomi says FlipBuds Pro can cancel noise up to 40dB with the ANC setting at the highest level. Users can choose between 3 levels of ANC including daily, office and travel, depending on their surroundings for optimal noise canceling performance.
FlipBuds Pro’s charging case has an oval shape, supports wired charging via USB-C port and also wireless charging. Xiaomi promises the overall battery life of this headset model is up to 28 hours if combined with the charging case, as well as playing music for 7 hours with a full charge. Besides, the headset also supports fast charging – allowing up to 2 hours of music listening after just 5 minutes of charging in the carrying case.
As expected, FlipBuds Pro will officially go on sale on Xiaomi’s website in China from May 21. The product currently has only one color option, black, with a retail price of 799 yuan (about 2.9 million).
