Recently, Xiaomi launched its first folding screen smartphone, the Mi MIX Fold. Xiaomi’s smartphone is not only equipped with terrible configuration and advanced technology, but also has an extremely breakthrough cooling system inside. Recently, Xiaomi has carefully explained its groundbreaking heat dissipation technology.
In an article posted on Weibo, Xiaomi revealed how it got over the limit of foldable devices. One of the problems with these devices is that heat dissipation depends quite a lot on whether the screen is open or closed.

Xiaomi says that the Butterfly cooling mechanism, developed by itself for the Mi MIX Fold smartphone, has solved the above problem through cooling from one side to the other half of the device. Partly thanks to Xiaomi’s special hinge mechanism.
The heatsink graphite sheet can be bent along with a folding hinge.
Folding screen smartphones tend to radiate a lot of heat on the side equipped with the processor chip. Xiaomi used a heat-conduction system made of anti-bend graphite sheets, to help dissipate heat from one half of the smartphone to the other.
Xiaomi says these graphite sheets can retain their strength after hundreds of thousands of 180-degree bends. This is something copper radiators cannot do. Therefore, conventional smartphones can use copper heat sinks, while foldable smartphones cannot.
Graphite material resists flexing with a strength of hundreds of thousands of folds.
Perhaps Samsung should also learn this breakthrough heat dissipation technology from Xiaomi, to help future Galaxy Z Fold smartphones have better heat dissipation ability, increasing processing performance, especially when working multitasking. .
