Xiaomi demonstrated the impressive 40W wireless charging technology

Wireless charging technology on smartphones has become very popular in the past few years. However, the limitation of charging speed still makes many users rarely choose this convenient charging method. A new technology innovation by Xiaomi will completely change this, as the wireless charging speed can be equal or even faster than wired charging.

The Chinese smartphone company recently shared a video on YouTube, with an unidentified phone with wireless charging, and a stopwatch on the back. The video shows that the time to charge from 0% to 100% battery with this wireless charger takes only 40 minutes.

Xiaomi said the smartphone used in this demo video has a 4,000 mAh battery, the standard battery capacity of many current smartphone models. Xiaomi also revealed that the wireless charger in the video used a 40W power source.

40W wireless charging, even more than double the wired charger of the iPhone. So it’s no wonder that fast charging is extremely impressive. However, Xiaomi has not revealed which wireless charging technology this 40W will be equipped on which smartphones.
