Xiaomi confirmed the launch of the Mi MIX 4 and a new tablet model this year

At the press conference on February 7, CEO Lei Jun confirmed that Xiaomi will launch the next generation Mi MIX this year, called Mi MIX 4. In addition, he also revealed that The company is preparing to release a new tablet model later this year, but it is unclear if it will be released with the Mi MIX 4.

Although there is not much information about the Mi MIX 4 at the present time, but the previous report said that Xiaomi may adopt a foldable screen design with the ability to fold, open and close like a book. If this information is correct, Mi MIX 4 will be Xiaomi’s first folding screen smartphone.

Another possibility is that Xiaomi can apply the waterfall screen design with 88 degrees curved edges on the Mi MIX 4, just like on the smartphone concept that the company recently launched. Previous leaks indicated that the phone would have a selfie camera hidden under the screen.

CEO Lei Jun has confirmed that Xiaomi will launch the next generation Mi MIX this year, however the specific timeline has yet to be revealed. Thus, Mi MIX 4 will be the smartphone that marks the return of the Mi MIX series two years after the launch of Mi MIX 3 5G.

There is currently no information regarding the next generation of Xiaomi tablets, even its name is still unknown. The company’s last tablet is the Mi Pad 4, which was introduced in 2018.
