Xiaomi announced the postponement of the launch of the international version Mi 10, after MWC 2020 was canceled

Not long ago, Xiaomi has confirmed it will attend the MWC 2020 event in Barcelona, ​​to launch the international version of Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro. Unfortunately, the GSMA event organizer has announced it will cancel MWC this year, due to fear of an outbreak of the Covid-19 virus.

Xiaomi has no other way, to cancel the global launch event of Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro, scheduled to take place on February 23 at MWC 2020. Yesterday, Xiaomi just launched Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro in China, during an online event. That means there is no practical experience with this smartphone.

The official statement was posted on Xiaomi’s Twitter page, saying that a separate European launch event will soon be held. The event will launch Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro internationally, along with other great products.

This is the first time the Mobile World Congress has been canceled, since it was renamed in 2008. Prior to 2008, the event was called GSM World Congress. The cancellation of the MWC 2020 event will also affect many smartphone companies, when the original plan was to launch new smartphones here.

Realme also announced that the smartphone launch event is expected to take place on February 24 at MWC 2020, but will now have to be turned into an online launch event. This year was supposed to be the first time Realme attended MWC, as a fully independent smartphone company, but that plan was foiled.

OPPO also has to change the launch date of the Find X2 smartphone. Previously scheduled to debut on February 24, but now have to push back to March, in a separate event.

HMD Global is also planning to launch new Nokia smartphones, especially one of the world’s first Android-powered smartphones. But after the MWC 2020 event was canceled, HMD Global has no plans to launch its new phones yet.
