Windows 11 will soon run better on weak PCs

Microsoft is preparing an update for Windows 11, which could make it work better on less powerful PCs. Now available to the Insider program, Windows 11 Build 22526 brings a number of bug fixes and improvements, many of which are relatively minor.

However, it’s worth noting that Microsoft is testing a new way to index file locations, which the company hopes will help users find important files faster in File Explorer.

In theory, the latest update should make sifting through large numbers of files much faster. This change will especially benefit users running Windows 11 on older, less powerful hardware, which is prone to performance drops.

The new build also supports broadband voice when using AirPods (which will improve sound quality for voice calls) and a new feature where the ALT + TAB shortcut key combination will appear as a “door”. window” instead of full screen.
