Windows 11 proves that Microsoft is starting to follow Apple in its perfectionism in details

Not only are there prominent changes such as the new Start menu or the improved taskbar, many small details such as animations present throughout the operating system contribute to a new look for Windows.

Microsoft has begun to change its approach to interface design and pay attention to the small details in everyday small interactions. After listening to user needs with a minimalist Start menu and less fragmentation, the design team prioritized improving the experience of using familiar applications or accessing documents users need. The new design also easily adapts to the shape of modern devices and allows convenient access to functions on any screen size, from Surface Go to ultrawide monitors.

Change from Windows 10 to Windows 11

Windows 11 also improves the “unboxing” experience when you first install the machine. The updated settings list is more streamlined, including naming the machine and helping you orient the settings according to your needs. Sometimes the seemingly small things matter.

In addition, most of the edges have been rounded, Windows also has a new icon design, new Segoe UI font. You only start to notice these changes after a while of use. Microsoft teamed up with studio Six N Five to create new wallpapers in Windows 11. They were curated to match the new Start menu design.

The preview version still has many inconsistencies in the design that need to be corrected. At times, it seems that Microsoft is still trying to blend Windows from a decade ago with this modern and minimalist interface.
