With the Windows 10 October 2018 Update, Microsoft has added “Cloud Clipboard” support to Windows 10 systems.

Users can access Cloud Clipboard using the Win + V keyboard shortcut. Here you can view the history of text and images that have been copied before. It also lets you pin frequently used content and sync it across Windows devices.

Text, images, and HTML code copied in this clipboard history are shared across all Windows devices signed into the same Microsoft account. After two years of waiting, this feature will finally be available on smartphones equipped with Microsoft’s SwiftKey keyboard.

In the beta version of the SwiftKey keyboard app for Android, Microsoft is currently testing a new option called “Sync clipboard history to the cloud” , roughly translated as Sync clipboard history to the cloud .

As described by Microsoft, this feature will copy and paste text from your other devices. After that, Microsoft will receive the data from the clipboard on Android smartphones and synchronize on Windows devices.

The SwiftKey app on Android has recently added quite a few new features and Cloud Clipboard support is clearly a very necessary feature.

It’s worth noting that Microsoft started supporting Cloud Clipboard for Android in 2018. But development was halted last year before Microsoft decided to resume development.

Once the Cloud Clipboard feature is available on SwiftKey, users can copy a piece of text on an Android smartphone and can be easily accessed in the clipboard on Windows 10. Similarly, you can also sync clipboard on Windows 10 with SwiftKey and clipboard access on Android devices.

For example, if you copy text or a URL on an Android smartphone, you can paste that URL into Microsoft Edge, Chrome, or other browsers easily.

Keep in mind that the Your Phone app for Windows 10 already supports copying and pasting content across multiple devices, but this feature is currently exclusive to select Samsung smartphones.
