Chris Hughes

Chris Hughes co-founded Facebook and was the first spokesperson for the social network. In 2007, he quit his job and supported the Obama campaign. In 2012, Hughes bought a majority stake in New Republic, a magazine focused on politics and culture. Hughes’s efforts to reform the publication resulted in a number of staff resignations. He eventually sold the magazine in 2016 after years of financial losses.
