Recently, VinSmart has quietly launched a new smartphone besides the newly introduced Joy 3. This smartphone, called Vsmart Star 3, is the third smartphone in the series of smartphone products introduced by Vingroup this year, is also the successor to the Star launched last year.
The main highlight of Vsmart Star 3 comes from the camera cluster. Like other low-cost models, Vsmart Star 3 is also equipped with dual camera clusters, however, unlike the phones in the same segment that own the second camera as a depth camera, the Star 3 has a camera. Super wide angle. And despite its super wide-angle camera, Vsmart Star 3 is still capable of capturing portraits.
To do this, Vsmart has applied algorithms that allow its camera to capture portrait photos with just a single camera. The same algorithm is applied on models with a previous camera like Google Pixel or iPhone XR.
This camera cluster of the device has 8MP f / 1.9 + 5MP parameters. In particular super wide-angle camera will have viewing angles up to 120 degrees. It also has an 8MP selfie camera on the front.
In terms of appearance, Vsmart Star 3 retains the design language of the Star series last year with a “water-drop” screen but has a 6.1-inch size larger than last year’s 5.7-inch Vsmart Star screen. The screen has a resolution that stops at HD + and uses a basic IPS LCD panel.
In terms of other parameters, Vsmart Star 3 is configured in the low-end segment with Snapdragon 215 chip included. And despite its low cost, it supports Qualcomm aptX technology, which allows users to get a more advanced audio experience via Bluetooth with wireless headsets that support this technology. In addition, the machine also has a single memory option is 2GB RAM + 16GB ROM. The battery of the machine has a capacity of 3500mAh, supports charging via USB-C.
In terms of selling price, Vsmart Star 3 is sold by Vingroup with a relatively cheap price of only 1.79 million dong. This price is almost on par with Vsmart Joy 3 in the first sale when it hit the shelves. However, some retailers are now “offering” Vsmart Star 3 for 1.59 million VND, 200,000 VND cheaper than the initial listed price.
In general, at the price of less than 2 million VND, Vsmart Star 3 is one of the rare smartphones on the market equipped with super wide-angle camera as well as a sufficient configuration. However, with the Vsmart Joy 3 being a big promotion, it is priced at just over a few hundred thousand dong but it is superior in all aspects, from configuration, camera to battery life, it is not reasonable. What do users need to spend 1 more small amount to upgrade to Joy 3.
