Vingroup has just announced the appointment of Michael Lohscheller – who used to hold the position of Vice President of Volkswagen America and General Director of Opel Global – as the General Director of VinFast. Mr. Michael Lohscheller will work in Vietnam, directly managing and operating VinFast’s markets today, including Vietnam, the US, Canada, France, Germany and the Netherlands. Mr. Michael Lohscheller is considered as one of the leading experts in the automotive industry in the world. One of his biggest accomplishments was leading Opel to steady profit growth after years of losses and converting Opel to an electric vehicle brand.

Michael Lohscheller was born in 1968, German nationality. He received a bachelor’s degree in business administration (1992) from the University of Applied Sciences Osnabrück (Germany) and the University of Barcelona (Spain). While working, Michael Lohscheller also studied and received a master’s degree in European Marketing Management (1996) from Brunel University (London).
