VinBus first rolled in Hanoi: Quiet, air exhaust, parking lot with solar cells, private car wash area ‘genuine’

Today (April 2), Vingroup has officially put the VinBus electric bus model to test run. In the first time, this tram line will only operate in the Vinhomes Ocean Park urban area. It is expected that on April 8, VinBus will go into official operation and in the future will expand its scope of operations.

Previously, VinBus was transported from the factory in Hai Phong to Hanoi. This is the first batch of VinBus not only for trial run but also officially put into operation. The car is completely assembled in Vietnam.

The Vinhomes Ocean Park area itself will be a storage, warranty and charging place for VinBus cars after each day of operation. The car park here is covered. The special thing is that on these roofs there is a solar battery system. Most likely, this battery system will provide electricity to recharge the buses. In addition, there is a private car wash on the premises of the dedicated bus area.

VinBus is the first electric bus model of Vingroup. The car’s electric motor is located in the rear. The battery of the electric bus used has a capacity of 281 kWh, if charged with a 150kW charging station after only 2 hours, it will be full and capable of operating from 220-260 km depending on conditions.

The car has a square design, combining 2 tones of black glass and green in the shell. On the car, there is a Green logo (meaning Green). Each bus can accommodate up to 72 people, including 25 seats and 47 handles for passengers to stand.

VinBus is also oriented to be a smart electric bus. At the end of 2020, VinBus and Advantech Vietnam signed a strategic cooperation to develop a smart bus management system. Solutions are focused on development including AI cameras to monitor driving behavior, wifi for passengers, cruise monitoring equipment, in-vehicle security monitoring, fleet information management software …

As announced earlier, VinBus will focus on operations in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. HCM and Phu Quoc with an estimated number of 150-200 vehicles in the first phase. Operating time from 5 hours to 22 hours daily, average 10-20 minutes per ride.

The specific price of this bus route is currently not disclosed.
